Ultra Low Noise SAW Oscillator for airborne applications

Oven Controlled SAW Oscillators Grade D are designed for airborne applications. The ULN OCSO are housed in ruggedized packaging including vibration and shock absorbers in order to withstand the harsh environment of airborne radars. The key component of this family of products is the high-reliability SAW resonator housed in an All Quartz Package (AQP) featuring excellent performances in terms of frequency stability, ageing, g-sensitivity.
These oscillators perform the same electrical function as Grade B fundamental mode but for airborne environment (extended temperature range, vibrations, shocks, etc.)
Additional features are offered like PLL on external 10MHz reference, frequency multiplication by 2 or 4.
Digital PLL option is implemented in SR D02 and SR E02.

Ultra Low Noise SAW Oscillator for ground applications

Oven Controlled SAW Oscillators Grade B are designed for ground based and naval military equipment, test benches, radar and telecom simulators, analyzers, synthesizers. These oscillators are featured by remarkable performances with improved noise floor performance without degrading close-in phase noise as shown with the Temex upgraded ULN OCSO@ 320 MHz

  • Noise floor better than -180 dBc/Hz (from 30 kHz offset) in fundamental mode
  • - 175 dBc/Hz @  10 kHz offset
  • Close-in phase noise equivalent to the best of multiplied VHF Crystal oscillators

According to radar makers, SAW technology is emerging as the favored approach for ultra low noise reference for the next generation radar systems under development.
